English Language with Stuart

Introduction
Hello! My name is Stuart Hatch and I live in the port of Blyth on the beautiful Northumbrian coast in the north-east of England.
If you can already speak some English but want to improve with a native British English speaker, please consider me as your tutor.
Background
I’m a retired teacher with Qualified Teacher Status in England, having taught Chemistry, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Astronomy to students aged 16 – 18, and ICT to adults. In retirement I have also become a qualified teacher of English – Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and also Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). My certificates are available on request.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, majoring in Physiology and Biochemistry, and before becoming a teacher of Chemistry and General Science I was an analytical chemist at Mullard Limited, a subsidiary of the Philips electronics conglomerate. With this background I can help students and others who want to study science or medicine at an English-speaking university.
Aims
There are four basic language skills we will practise:
- Speaking,
- Writing,
- Reading, and
- Listening.
I will also help you with your British English vocabulary and pronunciation. We can also explore English geography, history and culture.
Your next move
If you decide to give me a try, the first session will be absolutely free of charge so that we can get to know each other and plan a course for you individually. We can also discuss payment. I do not ask for a fixed fee as I don’t want anybody to miss out on learning English because I ask for too much. Everybody’s circumstances are different so you should only pay what you are comfortable with. Please be assured I will always do my best for my students and treat them equally, regardless of the fee they pay.
I deliver lessons using the Jitsi platform. This is an entirely Web-based service so there is nothing to download and nothing to install. You simply click the link I will give you and your browser will do all the hard work for you. Jitsi has similar facilities to other online conference applications - teaching room, whiteboard, chat, file sharing etc.
Russian learners welcomed!
I drove to Russia in my trusty C3 Picasso in September 2019 (Kaliningrad, Pskov, St Petersburg and, by the Sapsan, Moscow) and Mother Russia took me to herself. I now have a love for Russia and her people, and want to return as soon as possible. I'm learning Russian and I welcome Russian-speaking students wherever they may be.
Я приехал на своей машине в Россию в сентябре 2019 года и Россия-матушка "забрала меня к себе". Теперь я люблю Россию и ее народ и хочу вернуться сюда как можно скорее. Я изучаю русский язык и рад русскоязычным студентам, где бы они ни находились.
